About Us
First Class Child Care was established in 1984 by Gail and Alan Clifford. It has been recognised locally in East Lancashire for more than 25 years as a benchmark for quality care and personal service.
We extended our group of nurseries into West Yorkshire with FCCC @ Lorraines (Halifax) and further expansion in June 2005 with FCCC @ Wesley House, Bradford and latterly in January 2006 FCCC @ Cliffe House, Yeadon, Leeds. Our eighth centre is The Academy, Harrogate, North Yorkshire which became part of FCCC in November 2006. Our latest acquisition in March 2010 was Whalley Meadows in Lancashire. We now have a group of nine childcare centres.
We have a senior management team of Andrew Clifford, General Manager and our Senior Managers Judith Gannon (Lancs.) & Clare Gibson (Yorks.) who ensure our high standards are maintained, developed and monitored. The Senior Managers and Nursery Managers are supported by our Office Manager, Wendy Law, and Business Manager Emma Clifford.
First Class Childcare Centres provide professional care across the whole age range from 6 weeks in our specialist Butterfly Baby units, to Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum for 3 - 4 year olds, in our Wise Owls Pre School. Our Out of School and Holiday Clubs cater for 5 - 9 year olds.
First Class Childcare Centres' aim is to provide a stimulating, happy and secure environment in which your child may develop emotionally, socially and intellectually with other children, under the guidance of qualified and experienced, caring staff. Who will be ever aware of the needs of your child and will support and encourage their development into a confident, independent individual who is ready and well prepared to take their next step into primary school life.
We have received excellent OFSTED reports of which we are very proud. This reflects our eagerness to continually strive to improve the experiences offered to children in order for them to learn and develop throughout their nursery day.
