5th Annual Gala & Staff Awards

January

 

Nearly 130 staff from across the FCCC family gathered at the luxurious Coniston Hotel for our 5th Annual Gala & Staff Awards. A delightful evening was had celebrating the individual and group achievement from 2010. Headlines include FCCC Academy(Harrogate) taking the coveted ' Nursery of the Year Award', over £14,500 being raised across the group with Wesley House taking the 'Fundraising 2010' award, 21 staff completing NVQ 2/3 or Foundation Degrees and finally the presentation to a further 15 staff who joined our 5 year service club this year. Ofsted 'OUTSTANDING areas' at FCCC Accrington & Clayton

December

 

Accrington & Clayton were both inspected by Ofsted in December and we are delighted that Ofsted found several Outstanding areas at both nurseries. We were praised particularly for our Partnership with Parents, Resources & Equipment and knowledge of EYFS. Further details can be found under the nursery pages and we are awaiting full publication of the reports from Ofsted.

 

FCCC Clayton - fully refurbished from Fire - GRAND RE-OPENING

August

The staff and children at FCCC Clayton are eagerly awaiting the Grand re-opening of the nursery on Saturday 21st August at 11am.

 

The nursery has been fully restored and renovated throughout following the major fire in January. A wonderful environment has been created for children of all ages with high quality resources and equipment throughout. This has been complimented by a wonderful new outdoor play area.

 

We look forward to welcoming everybody as the nursery returns 'home' from our temporary location and would like to thank everybody that has helped the nursery over the past 7 months.

 

We're 'Good' at Lorraines

March

Staff and children are celebrating at FCCC Lorraines after they were inspected by Ofsted on 19th March as part of the three yearly inspection programme.

 

Lorraines was highly praised for its welcoming environment, along with partnerships with our parents.  The Halifax Courier took up the story and we had two lovely photos of the children enjoying their day nursery in the newspaper.

Whalley Meadows joins FCCC Group

17th March

 

We are delighted to announce that from Monday 22nd March, Whalley Meadows Day Nursery will become part of the First Class Child Care group.

 

An information evening is to be held for parents on Wednesday 24th March at 7pm within nursery with the opportunity to meet FCCC Director Andrew Clifford and other members of our Senior Team.

 

Andrew has been working very closely with Nursery Manager Heidi to ensure a smooth transition over the coming weeks and a positive meeting was held with the whole nursery team last night.

 

We are looking forward to meeting all the children and families at Whalley Meadows and ensuring that we continue to provide the highest standards of care and education in partnership with our parents.

 

 

FCCC 'GOOD with Outstanding aspects'

January

 

Staff and children are celebrating at three FCCC nurseries after our DILL HALL, ACCRINGTON and BARROW settings were all inspected by Ofsted during December 2009 as part of their three yearly inspection programme.

 

All the nurseries were highly praised for their environment, partnership with parents and our Scheme of Work for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

NVQ Success across the board

August

 

We have had a number of staff complete their NVQ studies over the past few months and we would like to say 'well done' to the following;

Candi Heaton (Manager) & Jill Dwyer (Deputy) at FCCC Accrington have both completed their NVQ 4's whilst Lianne Clayton has completed her NVQ 2 in childcare. All three were presented with their certificates and flowers by Andrew Clifford in nursery.

 

Laura Purcell (Dill Hall) completed her studies towards her NVQ 3 recently and was also presented with her certificate and flowers by Andrew in nursery.

 

At FCCC Clayton Natalie Gibson (Manager) completed her NVQ4, whilst Lisa Wood gained her NVQ 2 in childcare.

 

FCCC Lorraines congratulated Rachael Ogden on her NVQ 3 whilst at FCCC Cliffe House both Hannah Giles and Lauren Wells-Edwards completed their NVQ 3 in childcare.

 

Congratulations to everyone who has worked so hard to gain their NVQ qualifications.

 

Open Day at FCCC Barrow

June

 

FCCC Barrow will be holding an Open Day for current and prospective parents on Saturday 27th June from 11am to 2pm. Barrow Primary School will also be hosting an Open Day alongside this event.

 

Ofsted rates Cliffe House 'GOOD'

June

 

FCCC @ Cliffe House were delighted to receive a Grade 2 'GOOD' grading following their Ofsted inspection on Monday 1st June.

 

Director, Andrew Clifford, was thrilled that Clare, Linda and all their team of staff had been rewarded by Ofsted for all their hard work and efforts especially following the inplementation of the new Early Years Foundation Stage.

FCCC Barrow launched

June

 

FCCC Barrow, the newest centre within the FCCC family launched amid glorious sunshine on 1st June. The setting is located within the grounds of Barrow Primary School on the outskirts of the picturesque Ribble Valley town of Clitheroe.

 

The 38 place setting which now includes a small baby-unit also provided a popular before, after school and holiday club service to the children of Barrow Primary School.

 

A celebratory Open Day is due to be held on Saturday 27th June.

FCCC @ Wesley House were delighted to receive a Grade 2 'GOOD' across all of the inspection criteria following their recent Ofsted inspection in February 2009.

 

Director, Andrew Clifford, was pleased that Syliva and her team of staff had been rewarded by Ofsted for all their hard work and efforts especially following the inplementation of the new Early Years Foundation Stage.

3rd Gala Celebrations & Staff Awards

FCCC is proud to announce the winners of our Staff Awards, recently hosted at our 3rd Annual Gala Celebrations night. Please see the dedicated page for full details by clicking here. 

 

At the event, FCCC were delighted to award our fourth TEN YEAR SERVICE AWARD to Claire Milligan ~ Senior Nursery Officer at Clayton. Claire joins Candi, Jill and Judith, who earned this accocolade in 2007. 

 

Claire has been very dedicated and a highly valued members of the FCCC team over the years and it was a delight to present her with an exclusive Spa & Pamper Day, to be taken later in the year, as recognition for her continued commitment and professional standards.
