Ofsted Inspection Report

The staff and children of FCCC Lorraines are proud of their Ofsted inspection report from March 2010 and would like to share the following extracts with you;

How effective is the provision in meeting the needs of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage?   Grade 2

How effectively is the welfare of children in the Early Years Foundation Stage promoted?  Grade 2

The key inspection judgements and what they mean;
Grade 1 is Outstanding: this aspect of the provision is of exceptionally high quality
Grade 2 is Good: this aspect of the provision is strong
Grade 3 is Satisfactory: this aspect of the provision is sound
Grade 4 is Inadequate: this aspect of the provision is not good enough

"The uniqueness of every child is recognised and their learning and welfare needs are successfully promoted."

"There are strong partnerships with parents and information is fully shared to promote positive outcomes."

"The setting is bright, welcoming, clean and safe. Space and resources are organised well to support the children's learning in all areas."

"The children are well cared for in a fully inclusive setting where no child is disadvantaged."

"Staff work well together as a team, undertaking clear roles and responsibilities."

"The children play in a safe and secure environment"

"A good range of information is obtained from parents about their children's individual care needs and development levels prior to starting, which helps the children to settle."

"Parents are actively involved in the day-to-day activities of their children. They are invited to 'stay and play' sessions."

"Effective partnerships are in place with local schools where children will be moving to. The staff ensure a smooth transition from nursery to school."

"Plans and activities are adapted to suit the children's learning styles, interests and preferences, ensuring the children are motivated and inspired to learn."

"A healthy range of meals and snacks are provided which are prepared from fresh ingredients. Careful consideration is given to the nutritional balance of the meals and snacks provided across the day."
